In the news, Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 is moving its production to Tamil Nadu, India. Apple's Foxconn has started the production of a new iPhone in India to avoid supply chain vulnerabilities. With this, Apple is also planning to diversify their production units to reduce the dependency on China.
Few other reports have suggested that Foxconn is ready to dispatch the newest devices in a few weeks after they start shipping from factories in China.
To strengthen Foxconn's logistics operations ahead of the launch of the iPhone scheduled on September 15, 2023, its logistics arm Jusda has opened another office in Tamil Nadu. Jusda is the only authorized Supply Chain Management Company of Foxconn Technology Group.
The officials of Jusda have posted this news on LinkedIn, and here's the screenshot of that-
With this expansion, Foxconn supports Apple's goal to reduce supply chain vulnerabilities. With the help of Jusda’s logistics and new office development, Foxconn will be able to deliver the new iPhone 15 within a few weeks of launch.
Moreover, with the expansion of the current production units in Tamil Nadu, production of Apple's products can be rapid in India, reducing delayed supply, high cost, and dependency on China.
We tend to believe that this will help Apple to gather Government support by localizing the production of Apple products by supporting the "Make in India" movement.
