On August 16th, 2023 – South Korean vegan-meat company UNLIMEAT announced that they’re partnering with the US-based vegan-egg brand JUST Eggs to create and launch a new menu of vegan and plant-based solutions in South Korea.
This launch comes after the dedicated efforts of both brands in bringing vegan and plant-based solutions to South Korea and the United States respectively, wherein there’s an incline in the number of people who are switching to a vegan, plant-based and flexible diet.
UNLIMEAT and JUST Eggs bring Vegan Solutions to The Table
UNLIMEAT draws its name from the combination of ‘unlimited meat’ with the belief that unlimited meat can be developed with the help of vegan and plant-based ingredients, without compromising on flavours and textures. Founded in 2019, the company strives to reduce food waste and makes use of excess grain stocks to create plant-based meat solutions in South Korea.
US-Based JUST Eggs is a plant-based egg brand started by the company Eat Just with ambitions of bringing plant-based solutions to the United States. The brand uses plant-based ingredients to create vegan eggs. The primary ingredient in this egg-less egg is mung beans – which is a healthy and nutritious legume, with other vegan and plant-based ingredients added for flavours, appearance, and thickness.
UNLIMEAT and JUST Eggs to Launch Vegan Kimbap and Breakfast Sandwich
The collaboration between UNLIMEAT and JUST Eggs will be aimed to create a vegan menu. This vegan menu will start with the release of a vegan and plant-based version of the popular Korean dish Kimbap. Later, this release will be followed by the launch of an all-vegan breakfast sandwich with a plant-based twist on traditional Korean ingredients such as Tteokgalbi.
“As this collaboration unites brands with the same beliefs, we hope to develop a variety of products using Just Egg’s offerings and Unlimeat’s plant-based substitutes. This will serve as an opportunity to expand the range of choices for consumers who enjoy vegan options.” – An UNLIMEAT representative said, talking about this collaboration between the two brands.
The Kimbap, named ‘100% Plant Protein Bomb Kimbap’ will be made using JUST Eggs’ folded egg and UNLIMEAT’s sausage patty and vegan cheese. This will help add a vegan twist to this popular South Korean dish while maintaining a great flavour profile and high protein density.

The breakfast sandwich will be made with UNLIMEAT’s Korean-style Tteokgalbi patty, cheese and JUST Egg’s egg. The bun will be of a soy-protein base and will have an umami-like flavour profile with the use of garlic, onions, and green onions.
The 100% Plant Protein Bomb Kimbap will be available for delivery and sale in September 2023, starting with the Gangnam region. Following this release, the vegan breakfast sandwich will also be made available. It will be interesting to see how the residents of Gangnam region and the vegans in South Korea react to this interesting and flavourful collaboration between the two brands and to see if the brands will further launch such vegan food options.
