Owing to the rising pandemic, many countries around the world have
suspended their flights from India. After a survey done, it was realized that
from among the travelers coming from India to their country, many of them were
tested positive. It was majorly the passengers from the flights from Delhi, who
were tested positive. This made the US government to take a decision to ban the
flights from Delhi to the US. On 23rd April, the decision was taken,
and all the flights were suspended. The United Airlines, spokesperson gave a
statement that the main reason to suspend the flights was to seek clarity over
COVID related travel requirements from India.
On 25th April, the US based United Airlines again resumed
their flights to America from Delhi. The United Airlines gave a statement that effectively
from 25th April, all the flights will resume from Delhi to America
with all the necessary COVID travel precautions taken. Anyone who will not
follow the rules might be held under critical offense. From the date of
suspension till the day the flight resumed, United Airlines took a clear view
of all the possible situations, that might help them to stop spreading the new
deadly strain which is active in India to America.
As the possible way to spread that was from the passengers coming
from India itself. The United Airlines made some norms for the passengers
travelling to and from America to New Delhi.
Apart from the US, other countries including UK, Kuwait, France, and
Canada have banned flights from India, citing COVID-19 cases and because of the
"double mutant" virus being found in the country.
Lately this week Iran, Kuwait, Indonesia, and UAE are the latest
additions to the list of countries that have banned travel from and to India.
The United Airlines taking the situation under consideration have made a
mandatory RT-CPR test compulsory for the passengers with a 7-day compulsory
quarantine program. America have made special arrangement for their residents
that were willing to travel to America from New Delhi, but could not travel as
the flights were suspended. Government of the US have also requested their
citizens to not to travel to India for any reason citing an unprecedented surge
in the COVID-19 cases in the country.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which is a
top medical body of the US, issued the advisory this week that there is also a
risk of contracting and spreading variants from the fully inoculated
travelers. The fully vaccinated passenger might also posses the risk of
spreading the variant as the new strain might be much stronger for the vaccine
to stop it from spreading. Research is being made by most of the researchers,
to check if the vaccine can have control over the new strain from India too.
America made a rule to their citizens to get fully vaccinated before travelling
to India. And it is compulsory to wear a mask, stay 6 feet from others, avoid
crowds, and wash their hands, said the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) official in a statement.
