The global diesel power engine market is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 4.1% during the forecast period. The demand for diesel power engines is increasing in developing countries such as India, China, and others. The industries in these countries are highly affected by the power cut which makes these industries to adopt the standby diesel power engine to temporarily meet the power demand, which in turn fuels the overall diesel power engine market. Thus, the major market players are expanding the production capacity of diesel power engines in these countries to meet the requirements. For instance, in February 2021, Japan-based Yanmar Group inaugurated its first diesel engine manufacturing facility in India at ORIGINS, Chennai. The total built-up area is around 23,708 sq mt, with a production capacity of 80,000 engines annually. The manufacturing facility is built to cater to the domestic and export market demand. Additionally, the facility will manufacture diesel engines for tractors, construction equipment, and generators.

Moreover, in August 2019, Doosan Infracore signed an engine production and sales contract with PT Boma Bisma Indra (BBI) in Surabaya, Indonesia. Doosan Infracore signed a strategic partnership deal to participate in the Indonesian government's Indonesian National Engine Manufacturing Project. Under this contract, BBI set up a dress-up and SKD plant that can produce up to 16,000 units a year. At the plant, they will produce a variety of engine products to meet demand from Indonesia's major engine markets, including engines for ships, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and generators. Additionally, the companies are planning to ramp up production to up to 25,000 units in the future to cater to the need of the South East Asian markets. Additionally, Doosan Infracore and BBI jointly participate in the marine industry exhibition Inamarine, held in Jakarta, Indonesia to promote their partnership in mass-producing engines and to attract customers.
