- In October 2024, Neopac introduced its new Polyfoil® Mono-Material Barrier (MMB) Mini tubes at CPHI Milan. The tubes are available in downsized diameters of 13.5-16mm, and feature high-barrier mono-material solutions. These provide an aluminum-free packaging solution for products including pharmaceutical, dental, and ophthalmic formulations. They offer an Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) barrier for product compatibility. Polyfoil® MMB Mini tubes allow the use of HDPE closures.
- In May 2023, Stora Enso in collaboration with Blue Ocean Closures and AISA developed the first ever paperboard tube with a fiber-based closure. It would be made of a wood fiber-based material and aims to increase the use of renewable materials in packaging. The tube features Stora Enso’s barrier-coated board material Natura Shape™ and a screw cap designed in collaboration with Blue Ocean Closures with assembly by AISA. The solution contains more than 85% fiber content.
