Measures Taken by Government of UK will Support UK Entertainment Industry Amidst COVID-19 pandemic

UK entertainment industry will see the considerable growth of 8.3% during the forecast period. The outbreak of COVID-19 will certainly impact the film industry in UK, as the Government of the UK has imposed a ban on events that include social gatherings such as theatres, live events, trade shows, among others. As per UK Cinema Association, UK Government has put in place a number of measures to support the cinema sector during the current COVID-19 outbreak, which includes-

• In England and Northern Ireland, all businesses in the retail, hospitality, and leisure sector with property with an annual rateable value of between $18,550 and $63,070 will receive a one-off grant of $30,970, administered through their local authority. A further grant of $30,970 will be available for each eligible property.
• In Scotland, all businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sector with property with an annual rateable value of between $22,260 and $63,070 will receive a one-off grant of $30,970, administered through their local authority. Further grants of $23,180 will be made for any second or subsequent eligible property.
• In Wales, all businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sector with an annual rateable value of between $14,840 and $63,070 will receive a one-off grant of $30,970, administered through their local authority.
